  F Perry Shiring, Warming up before Toledo  By Michael Deemer / Pittsburgh River Monster  BEAVER FALLS, Pa.-- Fresh off a dominating 6-1 victory over the Toledo Mobsters, the Pittsburgh River Monsters will face the Soo Nordiques Saturday afternoon. The Monsters are currently first place in the Western Division with a 5-2-2 record, while the Nordiques are currently third at a 3-2-2 record.  The Nordiques are led by Curtis Hubbard. Hubbard has eight goals on the year already, ranking fourth in the UHL.  Not far behind him is Pittsburgh's own Perry Shiring with seven goals to his name. As the team approaches the halfway mark of their inaugural season, they continue to grow the sport of hockey in Beaver County. The River Monsters dominated the ice in every facet, defeating the Mobsters 6-1. "It's good for morale,” D Ryan Dolence said. "The boys were buzzing. We knew [before the game] we were going to win. I mean, as sure as you can be that we're going to win, we knew we were going to." "It feels pretty good," G Kevin Mackey said. "We've had a rough couple of weekends. So, it's nice to see everything come together finally. We're starting to head in the right direction here." Huss skated with the River Monsters during their Preseason, before taking a leave of absence preceding the start of the Regular Season. Huss last played in the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) in 2021-2022 for the Columbus River Dragons. He had 1 goal in 12 contests with the team. By Michael Deemer / Pittsburgh River Monsters BEAVER FALLS, Pa.--  The first-place Pittsburgh River Monsters will host Western Division rival Toledo Mobsters on Saturday night, February 24, at Brady’s Run Ice Arena.    The Monsters are coming off of two close, high-scoring games on the road last weekend, losing 5-4 to the Western Michigan Sentinels and a 7-6 defeat to the Hudson Valley Vipers in a shootout.   Toledo has played one game this season, losing 8-1 in Niagara Falls on Feb. 10, and is currently fifth in the Western Division.    The River Monsters last had a home game on Jan. 21, so the team feels refreshed to return to Beaver Falls.   Joe Ditulio had three assists against Western Michigan, and he shares his excitement to be back home against Toledo.   “We’ve kind of been on the road a lot, so I'm just kind of excited to be back in front of the fan base,” Ditulio said. “Not having to drive seven hours to go play hockey.
